Pilgrim is correct: the mainstream American press is closer to the Communist Party. Hell, they coddled the Soviets during the Cold War. They were among the radicals cheering, “Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh!” during the Vietnam war. They were among the “blame America first” crowd on September 11.

If they had covered WWII the way they are covering the war in Iraq, you Frenchies would be speaking German. Our West Coast would be speaking Japanese.

As for the French, their government is a bunch of spineless pricks who are now reaping what they have sown for decades.

Yeah, the French did a fabulous job at Cowpens for us by holding off British reinforcements but ever since they’ve been a thorn in our side.

I have to say I think it is spectacularly unlikely the French will ask for help from anyone, particularly the Us in the current political climate.

Umm, when did the French last ask the US to help them? I guess you could say WW2 (although really it was the British who asked for help), which was 60 years ago. The time before that? No idea. I know the French were quite helpful to the Us in gaining independance, but most of your modern history has been highlighted by ignoring each other as much as possible.

I say again, if these people have a problem with the Government then attack the Government. Stop with the attacks of innocent people’s property.

I have no idea what you consider the US. In the country I live in the MSM is HARDLY right wing. The only outlet that comes CLOSE to right wing is Foxnews. All the others are so far on the left that Lenin would be shamed by what they write.

One thing we can agree on, this is France’s mess of their own creation. I just hope they don’t ask us to help them again.

The Rioters arenot “Groups of Muslims”, They are groups of North Africans, who were accepted into France with open arms to do the zero Skills jobs every society requires done.

These North africans were then ghettoised by the French, and left in the worst living conditions in the city of Paris, the city doesn’t clean there street, the city does not repair there roads, nor does it ensure adequate protection from ruthless landlords (hence the series of devastating fires recently that partially precipitated these riots.

They are called rioters because they are rioting.

If you’d actually care to look at the underlying facts and read/listen to the not so right wing press (difficult in the US I know as most of your press is right wing) you would understand that this is not a religious problem, but instead a socio/economic one of Frances own creation through their own terrible treatment of this underclass they created.

The riots in LA started because the ethnic minority there were fed up with being unfairly targeted & treated by the police. They were sparked by an obviously randam attack on a member of the ethnic community by the police. Local businesses, cars & people were damaged during the riots.
