Host based IDS for your browser?

Posted by on March 10, 2007

OH Yeah BABY! You may be thinking, “Well, I have Prevx so my machine is protected” or “Well, I run teatimer with SpyBot so my machine is protected” or “Well, I have {insert fave toy here} so my machine is protected”…all of those toys may well protect you from known bad actors. Firekeeper will allow you to develop your own signatures, ala Snort, that will prevent certain things from taking place in your browser. NICE! This empowers us to be as proactive as we want to be rather than the traditional approach to host defense which is to say REACTIVE.

You can keep up with their development efforts at their blog and even test your installation against their test page. (not linked but is available from their main page…install the plugin first).
